4th Fost Cup

Here is some more information about this years Fost Cup.

   Application Deadline   : June 20

   Tournament Dates:  28(Fri.) and 29(Sat.), August 1998
   Tournament Place:  The Nihon Ki-in  (Ichigaya, Tokyo)

This year there is no finanical support for overseas competitors. 

The prize money is also different:

   1st: 1,000,000
   2nd:   400,000
   3rd:   300,000
   4th:   250,000
   5th:   200,000
   6th:   150,000
   7th:   100,000
   8th:    80,000

There is a limit of 50 entries. 
Day 1 will be a swiss-style preliminary tournament with about 7 rounds.
Day 2 will be a competition between the top 8 programs from day 1.

As I understand it only the top 8 programs will play on day 2.
I'm not sure if day 1 results will count, or if the final positions will
only be based on day 2 results. They promise more information after the
closing date.
