I guess you could circumvent that a bit by building the blunderchecker
in to the client program, so you didn't need to work in a different
window. You would still need to wait for the computer to calculate that
the move was ok. Of course most moves would pass the check and only a
few would need to be revised so the additional computer-time would be
the only real cost.
Some go server clients have atari checkers built into them (so I've
heard), which is a small way along the path.
Perhaps this is the best use for go programs for the forseeable future.
Already tsume go programs are strong in certain positions.
I don't recommend using them for cheating, but if a (dan level) human
could play more strongly with computer help then it would tell us
something about computer go.
