Vincent, when you write a chess program that can play Kasparov and obtain similar
results to DB, perhaps you will then be in a position to make such a claim. But
what counts are results, and the results speak for themselves.
However lacking DB is now, imagine where it will be in a few more years of "faster
and faster"! It appears that the IBM team did *exactly* the right thing, much to
the surprise of onlookers like me who had determined that "faster and faster"
couldn't get you there, that what you needed was "real" AI.
And the lesson for those of interested in Compter Go is...?
