I hardly think this is fair. Perhaps you sir, would care to educate the
entire list as to how our subconcious minds perform pattern matching? If
you cannot do so, then I'd suggest you keep your role as self-appointed
censor for the list to yourself.
The current art of Go programming has not yet produced a machine capable
of Dan level play. And if we stifle any inquiry which doesn't conform to
"standard" methods of computer game playing, I think it is doubtful that
we ever will. If John and Vincent wish to disagree over the nature of
human subconscious pattern matching, then I think we all can learn from
the discussion and perhaps in the process refine our own ideas of
potential methods for solving this incredibly complex problem.
You are still in college, so I'd think you most of all would understand and
appreciate the benefit of debating opposing viewpoints as an educational
method and route to understanding. Then again, perhaps our educational
institutions aren't what they once were.
