In science, if you make a scientific statement concluded from another
source without citing the source, it's plagiarism, and you could be
expelled from your institute for doing that. Very serious. :) Partial copy
of a propietory program might not be only plagiarism, it would be illegal.
I agree a "fair" process is a must.
