RE: Plagiary problem

>And also get this subject off the mailing list!!!!

The mailing list is "computer-go", not just "programming-computer-go". As
such I think it is on-topic.

I liked the idea of each program coding in a unique response to a certain
board position (one which will never come up in real play). The danger is
of the bad-guys finding these and editing them out. So authors should keep
them secret, and only reveal them when they want to make a plagiary charge.

Having a few different kinds of signatures in your program makes it harder
for the bad-guys to discover them all.

Yoshikawa's idea of having all programs hand in their EXE's at tournament
start will only work if those exact same EXE's are used to play all games,
which means the tournament organizers have to install them and start all
the games, while the programmers are reduced to watching from the sidelines.
