Representations of Go
I have only been paying attention to the list for the last few days.
And my conclusions (apart from those about GameSpace) are
that there is a great need (at least for some of us) to find a good
(mathematical, practical, revolutionary or whatever) representation
of Go.
I do not know whether this discussion already has taken place
(and I am interested in the results if this has been the case)
but I would like to try to start a "constructive" discussion following
a protocol that allows everyone to think about the topic before
floating away in details.
(As I experienced in reading the posts on this list details are often
worked out extensively which is not my intension when starting this
project/discussion.)
I am not sure whether my next proposal is a good idea and I am
ready to accept your comments but:
I would like everyone who is interested in discussing the topic
of "Finding a good representation for Go" to post to me
privately a rough scetch of what THE GOAL OF THE DISCUSSION
should be.
After a day or two (say at the end of the week) I will summarize
on the news-group what the outcome of this first post is. And I will try to formulate a few questions for the next "session"
This way we skip the garbage (I hope) and can get to a constructive research goal.
I hope this "Chairman" model is not going to kill me but I think it is an approach worth trying.
