What matters in science is the mathematical logic. A theory is a mathematical
derivation. It either works or it doesn't work. Nothing else. Discussion
about chaos theory strictly belong to this category.
Posts on this list mostly are for general comment about general directions.
Some maybe correct and some may turn out to be wrong. It doesn't mean a
person who made a general comment here will do his mathematics in the same
general way. Any person intersted in apply chaos theory to Go will do vigrous
mathematical work. Yes, it's good to point out some weakness in the thinking.
For example, someone pointed out Go game is actually a finite set. It's a
good point. Since no one has yet put out a complete theory, it doesn't make
much sense to drag out a detail in the middle of nowhere to argue about it.
Because the fundation has not been layed down yet. When people post here,
they generally think something is interesting. By the word 'interesting', I
mean it's something that may worth exploring. The purpose for us to post here
is to exchange ideas. I think one can gain in two ways by reading this list.
One is to gain knowledge and the other is that one maybe inspired by the post
of another person.
