computer-go: Call for votes for a German language go newsgroup
Dear go players,
since beginning of the last October
go players discuss in the German newsgroup
de.rec.spiele.brett+karten where we are
guests. In the meantime the interest has
grown so high, that Bernd Gramlich took
the initiative to found a German language
go newsgroup.
Currently there is a call for votes running
until February 17th, 2000, where two issues
have to be decided. First, whether or not such
a newsgroup should be established, secondly,
which name to assign to the newsgroup
(de.rec.spiele.go or de.rec.spiele.brett+karten.go).
If you are interested or know someone who might be
interested in taking actively part in such a newsgroup,
please take a look at de.admin.news.announce
where the call-for-votes is announced, or at my site
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/JoachimPimiskern/wahl.htm
Please consider that lots of beginners could
be reached through the usenet much easier than
passivly by simply publishing websites only.
We'd greatly appreciate if you'd deliver this
letter to your neighbour clubs as well.
Many thanks,
Joachim Pimiskern

ADDED FROM NOTE TO ADMIN:
By the way, I'm computer go programmer. You can download a beta version for
free
(Windows 16 bit) from
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/JoachimPimiskern/augos.htm
Unfortunately I found no way yet to internationalize my program, so all menu
entries are still in German.
Thanks,
Joachim
