Here is my first 9 -stone game against the program. It was a serious
game (more or less - I did think a lot).
I won with about 40 points, and It would had been only about 20 if
the program had not unexpectedly lost a group in the late endgame.
I am a weak european 2 dan.
It plays ko-fights very well. Starting a ko is normally a win-win
situation for a human against a program regardless of the nature of
the ko, but this program is good at picking and playing appropriate
ko-threats.
On my 200 MHz pentium it was rather slow on the 'hard' level.
Note that the program does not add the line AB (the coordinates of
the handicap stones) in the sgf-file. I had to edit the file by hand
to allow MGT and ManyFaces to display the file correctly. I guess
this is a common bug, the program saves the HA[9] line and knows
where the handicap stones should be - but the specification (I
presume) do not specify exactly where the handicap stones are placed.
The sgf-viewers i tried seems to expect that information.
