I think we have a slight confusion here about what the original question
was. I understood that the asker wanted a quick algorithm to detect those
stones that are impossible to capture, even without defensive moves. Others
have been talking of various levels of life and death knowledge. The person
who asked the original question has said that the Bensons Algorithm was what
he needed, so the whole side track to my proposal was off the mark. And as
was pointed out, it doesn't even work.
I think that's all there is to say about it.
