computer-go: 21st Century Cup participant list now on-line
Everyone,
You already know that the 21st Century Cup is a major new
computer go competition, sponsored by the non-profit Intelligent
Go Foundation, to be held at the US Go Congress next month.
I've put up a list of registered participants at
http://www.intelligentgo.org/21cc2001/participants.html. As you
can see, a strong field is shaping up, with participants from the
UK, Canada, China, Japan, France, and of course the US. Entrants
include the three or four strongest programs in the world.
I encourage other interested people to register now. We have set
the registration deadline for the end of June, to ensure that we
have enough time to make the necessary preparations. See
http://www.intelligentgo.org/21cc2001/application.html for
details.
We still apparently have no participant who qualifies for the $2K
Basis Technology (http://www.basistech.com) New Star Prize, to be
awarded to the highest-finishing program that has not previously
entered any major computer go tournament. Anyone?
The schedule has changed a bit. The tournament will still be on
Sunday and Monday. The man-machine match, followed by lectures
on computer go by several of the program authors. The awards
ceremony will be held on Saturday as part of the overall US
Congress awards.
We still need volunteers for tournament director and PR
representative.
Regards,
