Well, one could obviously adapt it as "how good a game can you play on a
penny's worth of compute time?"  Using the same metrics as the penny sort,
a $600 computer gives you 1576 seconds of clock time, which seems very
reasonable.

It's an interesting idea, though I'm not sure how much effort it's worth.
