You are right Darren, but computer go is a little far from pro go
players. Isn't it?

I propose this rule as a mechanism to limit the duration of computer go
games.

I'm investigating evolving go programs and my programs never pass. A
game finishes when there are not more valid positions to play or when
the maximum amount of stones are played.

When players run out they do a prisoner exchange. I believe I've seen
pro 
games with over 400 moves.
