Like Paul, I believe that this really a minor issue.

Even if it was not required, I would include somewhere in the printed 
documentation (if it exists) or the online help, acknowledgement of any 
code that I use. It seems like the fair and honest thing to do, just 
like quoting sources in a scientific publication.

I agree however, that the full copyright notice, with its reference to 
GNU Go and it's legal disclaimer and jargon is a bit cumbersome to 
include as-is.
