After some introductory remarks on computer go, it is an extensive
comparison between Gnugo 3.4 (with gGo as front-end) and Go++ 4.1. They
let them play 18 games against each other on different board sizes -- the
matches were close on 9x9 and 13x13, but Go++ won all 6 on 19x19.

Then they report about matches against a 6kyu and describe
the difference in styles. They describe Go++ as playing very solidly,
being pretty conservative about defending cutting points and generally
playing calmly (aside: they complain that about Go++'s habit to start
hopeless invasions after the game is already finished, declaring this
"bad style"), whereas GnuGo plays, they claim, aggressively, invading
frameworks early to create complications. Gnugo would sometimes follow
josekis too predictably, and miss important cutting points. The results
were comparable, but the author (8k) remarks that he does much better
against GnuGo.

This is followed by the account of the opinion of a 3d having played
a couple of games against both, and he liked GnuGo's style much better.
In his words, Go++ played more consistently, but too passive, and too
much concerned with connecting his stones instead of trying to build a
moyo (all in 9 stone games, I believe). Contrary to GnuGo, it would not
try to punish overplays. GnuGo would try to build up a moyo and often
succeed in killing the invasion, but on the other hand it would commit
disastrous blunders much more often.

Comparing the interfaces, gGo got praise for having many useful features.
Eg they missed the ability to resize the board window in Go++.
