Try using OpenGo from here http://www.inventivity.com/OpenGo ... You can
implement your engine as either a Windows DLL or as a Linux SO and get
GMP connectivity for "free"  .  I've run it against GnuGo successfully.
It connects via a pipe.  OpenGo will also support GMP over a modem on
Windows.

Of course, it would be great if someone added GTP to OpenGo to
facilitate other developers.  And improving the GMP implementation would
be nice too,
