After I  posted this several  people sent me  email asking me  to send
them a copy.

This is an old article and I found it some time back.  A google search
will enable anyone to find a downloadable copy.

   There is an excellent paper  on lambda search by Thomas Thomsen called
   "Lambda-search in game trees -  with application to go."  I will email
   a copy to you in a separate email.
