Just for those who don't know. There is the Chinese chess. It's widely played in the far east countries. The meaning of the original name is 'elephant chess', refering to the bishop move in the diagonal manner. This leads to the idea that it may originate from India. But some people think the word 'elephant' was originally the word 'bishop' (the two words pronounce exactly the same). Chinese chess is very similar to western chess, just as complicated. But I think it's more dramatic. It doesn't have the rule of castling or equivalent (this rule seems not very natural).
