Do you have recommended reading for a gentle introduction to the
physics problems?
About 15 years ago there was a Scientific American article on the
Renormalization Group theory of phase transitions.
Sci Am articles start gentle, although by design they always go way off
into the very specialized stuff by the end. While I believe the scope
of the solutions will be far broader than just this one problem (there
are now very large conferences on multi-scale physics) this is the
field in which I first learned about the techniques.
I am sorry I do not have anything better, or a more direct reference to
the article.
Cheers,
David
