RE: [computer-go] how to have a computer go tournament?

this is good

With $1000 prizes 5-10 would show up. The big contests
in Asia with $6,000 to $20,00 prizes attracted 20 to 40 programs.
the current prizes in the cotsen open are only $1,000 for the winner of the open (and lesser amounts for the next 3 or 4 places). there is a $1000 for the club with the most players (see: http://www.thelec.com/go.pdf). iirc, the handicap section is about $500 for the top dan section (i'm guessing) and goes down from there. i have no clue as to how many $ eric would put up for this. so there is probably no much chance of getting a lot of people. but perhaps i can suggest some travel money or something.

... I suggest you find someone... Try Bob Myers at the Intelligent Go Foundation: http://intelligentgo.org/en/index.html
will do.

I would enter Many Faces of Go. I live in San Jose.
great! i have a spare bedroom if you want a place to stay for free.

Most programs can play using AGA rules.
i don't know what all of the aga rules are, but we are supposed to use the ing rules also.

.. I think it would be interesting to get an AGA rating for a computer program.
that would be very cool. what is mf's igs rating these days? iirc, those are usually 1 or 2 stones weaker than one's aga rating.

thanks
