You didn't miss a GTP draft, but you missed how this would be setup.
The kgsGtp client would locally connect to the engine using GTP, and
connect to the server to deal with login/passwd. The server would then
arrange the tournament between the bots that are logged in.

In fact, this is the setup that would be used in _any_ such computer
tournament, I suppose/hope.

The only disadvantage of using KGS is that every participating program
would have to implement GTP.
