The Many Faces of Go.  Last month I completed the rewrite of the global
search to use a chess-like alpha-beta PVS framework.  Unclear yet if it is
stronger, but it is certainly much slower.

A couple of things I've been wondering about this mailing list:

- how many people are subscribed to the list?  I imagine that someone has 
easy access to this number.

- how many on the list are actively (say, within the last 6 months) involved

in developing a computer Go program?  I imagine the only way to figure this 
out is by a 'show of hands'.  I'll kick it off by raising my hand.

BTW, I hereby claim the name GONZO for my program :-)
