Re: [computer-go] future KGS Computer Go Tournaments - two sections?

GnuGo is here to stay. Everyone has to deal with it. One solution for
the tournament is to require every entering programm play ten games
with a version of GnuGo. Then sub-group programs according to the
number of winning games. Within each group use Swiss rules to choose
top one or two winners. Then all the winners of all groups play an all
round robin to determine the champion.
I really don't see the point of this. It would be a lot of work, and would not solve the problem. Moreover, it would award a special position to GNU Go, something I am not willing to do for any program.

The purpose of the proposed split into two groups is that in the upper group there will be a "level playing field", with no more than one copy of any piece of software.
