There already exists a plugin that allows you to incorporate LaTeX
objects into wikipedia. http://www.wikisophia.org/wiki/Wikitex
Among other things, this allows the creation of Go diagrams from
SGF source material
http://www.wikisophia.org/wiki/Wikitex_Go
http://match.stanford.edu/bump/sgf2tex.html
Not trying to argue the relative merits of one site over another,
but simply passing along that Go diagramming is already available
for Wikipedia.
