Re: [computer-go] Gnugoclient

We got it up and running and connected to IGS. The problem is that, as soon as we start a game, gnugoclient starts creating one copy of our program after another (in rapid succession, before any moves are played).

This isn't a high priority for us, but there's our report.

The official site for gnugoclient appears to be down:

The lysator site is finally back up. This also means that the GTP page
at http://www.lysator.liu.se/~gunnar/gtp/ is back.

My program speaks GTP. What's the easiest way to connect it to IGS?

Try gnugoclient if you can run Pike interpreter. It must be somewhere
on Gunnar's site, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

I have never tested gnugoclient against IGS, only NNGS-based servers,
so due to protocol variations it probably doesn't quite work. But
please try it out and report how far it seems to come. If someone is
brave enough to dig into the code and patch it for IGS I'll be happy
to include the needed changes.
