Well my go program JaGo (http://weber.u.wasington.edu/~hannaz/JaGo)
is at bottom of computer go ladder (http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/go/ladder.html),
and it plays interestingly only on 9x9 board. However, it definitely plays
better Go than the current GNU Go, and it has GUI interface, selfscoring
(critical to beginners). From the response I got (unfortunately, all the
guest book entries of JaGo's page are lost when my account get canceles :(
people who never played go before got quite a kick out of this program.

This program is written in Java, so people may not like it for the sake
of lack of speed, and I probably need to do some work on it so that the
interface and engine are not mangled together.

Anyway, the source code of this program is available in GPL license,
and this is my offer to be the new GNU Go.
