Re:Go program strength

I don't think this happens very often.  Most years I run the
same version of Many Faces in every round.  Some years I
change it during the evening between rounds.  Not to prepare
for my next opponent, but to fix a bug that lost a game that
day.  Once I substituted and older, weaker version after
Many Faces crashed during a round.

I haven't seen much changing of parameters between rounds to
adjust to the opponent, so I don't think it acocunts for
much strength difference.
