computer-go: meet The Turtle

Joan Pons i Semelis' The Turtle played its inaugural match this Monday on  
the 19x19 Computer Go Ladder and lost vs. gottaGo in, well, a somewhat  
bizarre game.  Both programs made some plays on the edges initially but then  
went into a frenzy of placing unconnected stones in the center.  Ultimately  
gottaGo won out by being able to cut The Turtle's groups.  But both  
programs' proclivity for playing self-atari made for some exciting moments.  
:-)

The Turtle plays its first 9x9 ladder match against GL7 this Thursday at  
2100 GMT on NNGS.  Should be interesting.
