Re: computer-go: EGC Computer Tournament

Dear David and All,

> Can I send you a copy of Many Faces to enter?

Do you intend to attend the tournament or would you like to
have it operated by a third person? I had not thought of such
operation so far. While in principle I would agree to it,
we cannot handle more than a few such programs, if there will
be operators at all. The reason is that we have only a limited
number of computers available (unlike Ing or Fujitsu). So
unfortunately I have to be reasonable and only allow operation
by third persons in case of programmers that are citizens of
an EGF member country. Apart from operators being required,
failures of a program to run are of the programmer's responsibility
only.

We have to use the computers at the school. They do have Novell/
Win3.11. I try to organize more modern computers (i.e. Win95 or
Win98), but they will all be private property, so we should not
expect more than a few. ASB, you can also bring your own PC.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience, however, the EGC CG T does
not have any computer company as a sponsor - that's the reality.
I assure you that we would prefer modern PCs as well, but only
old PCs are not enough reason to cancel the entire tournament.
