Computer Go mailing list,
Entrants for MSO 2000 computer Go,
Kirsty Healey (organiser of other MSO Go events),
Alison Bexfield (BGA president),
I seem to have been left in charge of organising the computer Go in the
MSO 2000 event. I regret this. However the event is going to take
place, and I shall do what I can to make it a success.
Anyone wishing to register should do so with me by email, as well as
filling in the form at
http://www.msoworld.com/Olympiad/computer-entry.html
Please do not assume that information sent to the MSO authorities will
also reach me. Entries which have not reached me by 2000-08-07 23:59
GMT will not be accepted.
I have currently received entries from
Mick Reiss UK
Chen Zhixing CN
Bruno Bouzy FR
Tristan Cazenave FR
Yongkyoon No KR
Lu Jinqiang CN
The MSO are still looking for a source of sponsorship to provide
computers for the event. If they obtain some computers, this will be a
uniform-platform event; if they fail, competitors will be asked to
bring their own computers. I very much regret this uncertainty. I
think that it is reasonable to assume that if computers are provided,
they will have Pentium processors and run Windows.
Entrants are asked to bring the source code of their programs. In case
of a dispute, they may be asked to show it to myself, to Don Beal, and
to other responsible persons appointed by us.
The competition will be held on Monday August 21st and Tuesday August
22nd. If there are problems it may be necessary to continue it over the
following three days; but I do not think that this will be necessary.
The competition will be a seeded Swiss. Time limits will be 60 minutes
each, no overtime. Chinese (area) rules will be used. Komi will be 6.5
points.
