Although I am not 100% sure, there is a good chance that I am the
inventor. (I also gave some definitions on rec.games.go.)

Why did I use that word? I might have sticked to perfect player,
however, back then God, guru, etc. were popular, and I wanted to
summarize these terms into an easily recognized, more neutral
term. On a general discussion place like RGG perfect player 
would not generally be recognized as specialized. Rather many
would think of a quality not better than 9p. GoGod makes the
term's intention clearer to everybody in the go public.

It is one of the terms used in Mathematical Go Endgames, I think.
There it is properly freed of such background.
