Re: computer-go: Benson's paper

Hi Danny,

The TIFF files for Benson's paper all are *invalid* due to the lack of
`StripByteCounts' field, according to XV (a popular image viewer in
Unix environment). The particular pages 1,6,7, and 10 appear also to
have other problems (if I understood correctly they seem to be color
images, which causes some scaling problems). However, the files can be
viewed and converted correctly according to my tests.

[I do not see a reason to LaTeX the paper, assuming that the pages are
converted to some more convenient formats (say, Postscript as I did).]

By the way, Mueller's papers reside at

  http://www.cs.ualberta.ca/~mmueller/publications.html

and the paper titled "Playing it safe: Recognizing secure territories
in computer Go by using static rules and search," seems to be the one
that Darren refers to.

Best regards,
Mika Kojo
