very good justification.
__ Standard ko rule, i.e. 2-cycles forbidden.
Implementing superko is difficult. Some of the programs at Dublin
will not be world leaders, they will be newcomers to CG. I do not want
to make things difficult for them.
The question then arises; what do you do if a triple ko occurs? One
program might implement a super-ko rule and back down while the other might
get an unfair advantage. If neither program backs down, how do you resolve
the situation?
__ No suicide allowed.
Some programs do not allow suicide. If suicide is allowed, and is
attempted against such a program, it refuses to accept the move, and
therefore loses.
The problem is with these programs. ALL programs should accept
suicide. There are enough computer go tournaments played under ING rules
that they are going to have to cope.
What about programs that play good suicide moves?
