computer-go: 13x13 CGo-Tournament Osnabrück
Hi everyone,
my 13x13-ComputerGo-Tournament in Osnabrück
definitly will start in September 2001.
Since we are looking forward to four international
19x19 computergo contests in this summer
* 21st Century Cup 2001 (July 21-28)
US Go Congress 2001 in York, Pennsylvania, USA
* european computergo championship (August 1st)
European Go Congress 2001 in Dublin, Ireland
* Guiyang (August 10-13)
International Go Culture Festival, China
* 6th Computer Go Olympiad (August 18-23)
Maastricht, Netherlands
I thought it would be wise to let my own tournament begin later,
giving the possibility to let participate some of the tournament versions
of the programs that play on these intenational contests.
So I want to encourage all authors to make improvements for their programs
until end of August and then send me their newest version for the contest.
The previous list of participants (see below) is in alphabetical order,
the tournament shell result in a sort of ladder: a rating list of places
showing the 13x13 playing strength in some hundreds of games played.
Each program will play 30 games and more...
I want to play 2-3 pairings a week
with 6 games each pairing
and publish results and games weekly on a website.
(Some more precise rules will be published there as well:
japanese rules/ komi= 5.5 points/ black´s first move 4-4, 4-3, 3-3/ ... )
I may perhaps try to let the option for new programs to join
the tournament later or for stronger versions to replace an older version,
but I prefer playing a new tournament every year.
