Hi Arnie,

I know the capturing game as "Atari-Go"
which is usally played on a 10x10 board 
and with a crosscut in the center as starting position
(I am using a magnetic shogi-board with Go stones).

There is a program 
  "AtagriGo 1.0" 
by Rainer Schütze (1998)
freeware to download at the site of the
DGoB (Deutscher Go-Bund):
