computer-go: General Question

Hi Folks,
I am a go player in New Jersey. I was hoping someone on the list could point 
me in the direction of a shareware go program for mac. I've dowloaded go 
servant for mac but cant get it to function correctly. Rather than have 
someone hold my hand through the process I was hoping that there was a 
simulation in which I could play against my computer. From what I understand 
once folks get good they can beat any of the software. But I am still a 
relative novice. I would appreciate any suggestions.
