As long as we're off topic...
Actually that is the common scientific application of his original idea.
However, the original latin phrase by William of Ockham is quoted as
"Pluralitas non est ponenda sine neccesitate". The most accurate english
translation IMO goes something like: "one should not increase beyond what
is necessary the number of entities required to explain something". ;-)
