I guess I should have rephrased that as: "Why do you need this? What specific purpose requiring a citation as opposed to what has evidence, but requires a conclusion. "

( the language used by an academic would not be good for a journalist ).

I think she is looking for a quote by Hans Berliner who is a computer
scientist and an authority on computer games. I don't remember the
exact quote or where to find it, but he said pretty much what she is
looking for.

I would have thought that a couple of readily available facts and the
large amounts of unclaimed prize money would make that pretty obvious.

( sorry if that sounded a little too flippant ).

Though I do remember reading a paper a while ago that proved that GO
was NP-Hard - making it a grand problem in general.
