Let's force everyone to use GMP over UDP/IP.
That will impose an equal amount of [useless] work
on everyone. And: UDP is easy to implement,
much easyer than TCP !!!

I liked nick wedd's contribution. IMO
the willingness to communicate is much
stronger than the force needed to impose
your protocol/language onto your [intended] peer/opponent.

NB. Another reason for having humans present is
authentication. [trust, in human terms]
It is _very_easy_ to manipulate a program
via a second communication-channel
[ you can use talk to influence go-bots, without
needing a second channel on IGS/NNGS/WhateverGS ]
Human presense does not solve cheating,
but *I* would like to be able to look the
cheater in the eyes ...
