I used a methaphor, don't tresat is as a concrete situation.
My methaphor served to illustrate the need for a paradigm shift.

As far as I can see, existing search techniques do not approach human
performance.
I understand totally ZERO of much of the explanation of those techniques but
my impression is that they are rather fruitless to arrive at a 9p level or
above, and that is of course what we all should be aiming for.

I can explain what I mean. The search techniques I see described talk about
"guaranteed way to solve a problem". To prove that a certain sequence wins a
group, etc. I am not sure that people work the same way, that they are 100%
accurate and certain.
I suspect that when you trade accuracy for search depth, you can "see"
things that will utterly exterminate a human opponent because it will be too
late at the time the human sees the danger. The computer should make very
many small unsettled groups and use a tactical advantage.

(I played against my pattern system BTW and it made many tiny groups and
utterly slaughtered me, it connected everything and all my stuff was cut).

Off topic,and no.

They work solely by kinetic energy and vaporize and burn only when they have
arrived inside the tank.

You are perhaps mistaken with a shaped charge, which essentially is a hot
gas ejected as a pencil-shape into a certain direction.
