suddenly change, then if SlugGo actually does have an edge as believed
by the authors, then that advantage might go away.
Yes, it surely might. And it is for exactly that reason that I think it
sensible to open up the subject of whether *all* computer Go
tournaments should be played with a one hour limit....
... Lots of CPUs today is much the same as a common desktop
computer in 5 or 10 years. I'd rather do my development and
testing of ideas now rather than wait.
I don't think computer tournaments tell you much - you need a lot of games
to gain a meaningful result (i.e. exactly what you're already doing).
Tournaments are about socializing and for the commercial programs, the
chance to put "world champion" on your meaningless marketing material.
