This sounds promising.
Would there be a mechanism for programs stating their game preferences
(board size, time settings) ? Perhaps there could be different "ladders"
for board sizes and time settings (9x9-15min, 9x9-1hr, 19x19-2hr, etc.) and
programs could join for the settings in which they want to participate.
Then the server would know which groups of programs should be paired
together.
