This is exactly my point. If people could set a range of acceptable
options and the gateway-script could automatically negotiate a match within
these parameters, I think that would be more useful.

Interesting. So the default is an even game, no matter the rating of the
two players?

If I get some time, I'll investigate the code. This seems like it would be
especially useful for computer programs, as many play 9x9 games.
