i'd be careful about that -- we've only
had computers for 60 years.

i'd agree that we won't have a perfect player
in the sense that the game has been completely
solved, but we might (and should!) have a perfect
player in the sense that no human can learn to
beat a nominally-outfitted computer.

while CS today might seem vastly advanced compared
with 1945, i think that there's plenty of room for
movement forward.  and no, i'm not primarily thinking
of hardware (which is the realm of EE more than CS).
