As far as I know GNU Go has won prize money twice. Once it has been
donated to the Free Software Foundation (who owns the GNU Go
copyrights) and once it has been held by a GNU Go developer as funds
for future tournament entrance fees.

The license does not have any provisions about tournaments or price
money. It is entirely up to the tournament organizers where they want
to send the prices, just as it is up to them to decide who they want
to allow participating.
