Re: [computer-go] Protocol B

It appears that SlugGo plays AREA RULES *with a territory-rules

SlugGo plays by area rules just fine and will accept playing by
protocol A exactly the same way that GNU Go does. It is not that I
don't want to code it, it is just that I do not like it. It is not that
SlugGo would rather pass than play inside its own territory, it is that
I would prefer to see it play that way, and I feel it is wrong to hold
against such play the threat that dead stones are suddenly alive.
Again, I think it we should not agree to a protocol that so obviously
holds out the possibility of rewards for behavior that humans would
consider rude or stupid.
I do see the point of those who say "If they don't agree the first time
they probably won't agree after that." I am thinking about that.
I am also leaving now to a place that does not have electronic access,
so I will not be able to respond to anything until Tuesday.
