Re: Small board Go

I do not know about computer programs but some have analysed
small boards methodically. I think, John Tromp has a web page
about 7x7. The ML go-rules discussed 6x6, however, I am not
entirely convinced. Bill Taylor does a lot of special case
studies on various tiny boards resulting in arcane seki and
cycles. My own little contribution says that you can get every
result by setting proper rules... The crucial issue about most
tiny boards is the used set of ko rules. So small boards provide
great fun for studying rules, but what is your intention in
analysing them? They hardly serve for fundamental CG life and
death studies since ko issues are overwhelming and often life
and death is directly caused by the ko rules in use. Please see
signature for an example arcane shape you are unlikely to occur
on other boards than 4x2.
Merry Xmas,
