new incredibly strong go program?

Ok, this sounds too good to be true, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Last night, I heard a rumor (only second hand?) about a new go program
(no idea what OS, what natural language it caters to, &c) that beats a
6gup player with a 6 stone handicap.  I believe this would make it
about 3-4d on the IGS scale.

Is it possible that computer go could have made such a huge leap all
of a sudden?  If yes, what's the program's name?  What's it cost?
Where can it be ordered?  What OSes does it run on?
