I have the Version 97.06 of Handtalk, and you can be sure: It is
one of the strongest go programs.
BUT: im am about 9 Kyu and i win if im black (whithout any handicap
stones).
A friend of mine (which is about 4 Kyu) gives Handtalk a handicap of
25!!!! Stones, and wins nearly
every time! (Belive me; it's no joke!) But one must say, that he knows
the weaknesses of the programm
and uses this information. It's typical for a program, that it makes
the same error evrey time -
if you once know such a mistake, you can win against it nearly evry
time.
I think, this diploma from the Nihon Ki-in is completly silly.
But there is an additional fact too:
I heared, that the version one can buy, ist not the same as the one
which is playing at the tournaments
and which gets this diploma. I have no idea, how much better this tournamet-version
is.
Which version of Handtalk do you have?
Did everyone know, which is the latetest version? And how much better is this version, than my 97.06-version?
See you
